We are always interested in new players joining us!

To join, please contact us, to let us know you want to play! I will help you get your character set up and ready for game, and I encourage you to use the Character Creation quicksheet you can find here to get started on your own.

Our game is a continuous, year-round story, so there is no seasonal break for new players to join the ‘start’ of a plot. Instead you can just jump right in whenever you choose. I do suggest coming to a Downtime Session before attending the LARP though, so that we can get some character ties established and have time to check over your character sheet. After all, your character needs someone to tell them where the Freehold is meeting up. If you want to know about our game in more detail, please download and read through our Player’s Handbook.

One of the primary choices you have as a new player is whether you want to play a recently escaped changeling, or a more established one.

Newly Escaped – Great for Beginners!
Changelings who have just escaped their Keepers might know very little about their own nature, or the Hedge’s. They will definitely not know about Changeling cultures, the traditions of the Courts, and so forth, so this makes this an excellent option for first-time players in the Changeling world. You can learn at the same time as your Character.
Mechanical Side – Fresh Changelings should not purchase: New Identity above 1, Resources above 1, Contacts Allies and Status in mortal institutions. You haven’t been back in the world long enough to get any of these
Established Changelings – Great for Experienced Players!
These characters have been out in the world for some time, so they know the score. They might have already joined a court, or sworn to the Freehold, or both, and are more likely to have mortal contacts and influences. These types of characters are great if you have a good working knowledge of the game world from the cannon sourcebooks.
Mechanical Side – More established Changelings should purchase at least some dots in New Identity and Resources to reflect their established lives.
